Poem N.2 Birds
Birds
A kookaburra came to me Laughed with pride What a bold and gleeful creature I envied his confidence, adored his eyes But needed nothing he had
A magpie came to me Sung his melody Felt like he understood me Connected with his reputation, admired his perseverance But needed nothing he had
A plover flew to me A silent greeting His mask was worn like a piece of armour I trusted his heart, praised his strength But needed nothing he had
A mallard came to me A loud entrance Didn't have a care in the world I respected his pride, questioned his ways But needed nothing he had
Inspired by the song the crow, the owl and the dove by Nightwish
