I am not the girl.
I am not the girl with the split dye hair
I am not the girl with the botched kitchen bangs.
I am not the girl pleasing everyone but myself anymore.
I am the girl that straightens her hair
And I am the girl that sits, doing my makeup slower than a snail
I am not the girl with the heavy blush anymore. 
I am the girl wearing my great grandmother's ring
And my mother’s vintage clothes from when she was 16.
I am not the girl with 5 bracelets on each arm,
The girl with rings on each finger,
The girl whos bedroom was a dump,
Nor am I the girl with confidence smaller than a pea.
I'm the girl with an amazing boyfriend, and
The girl that loves Marie Antoinette,
I am the girl that is meant to be on stage, and 
I am the girl that wants nothing more than to prove myself
I am not that grade 7, 8, 9 girl anymore.
I am a grade 10 girl 
With nothing but Rio
And my aching soul
