Dragon Cave!
Category: Resources
Current mood:  nostalgic

um OK so a bunch of ppl on graveyard 2nite joined me on my nostalgia trip to DRAGON CAVE!!
please ignore my username on the  site i made it when i was like 11 >_<

TLDR; Dragon Cave is this super old browser "game" thing where you collect eggs, hatch them into dragons, and theyre really cool and cute :D it might sound like theres not much point but i find it weirdly addictive lol. i used to use it when i was rlly active on old school forums which is why my acc is rlly old

HOW TO GET EGGS:
So when you log onto the site theres a map with different habitats where you can "steal" different dragon eggs. Each habitat has unique eggs to collect! Every egg has a unique pattern which corresponds to its breed. Theres about 200+ breeds to collect atm! a few more get added each month. When you steal an egg directly from the map you can't see it's pattern, so its a surprise. There is a link above the map where you can see eggs other users have abandonded- these dragons usually have a lineage but don't worry about that too much haha.
You can only have up to 4 eggs at a time!

HOW TO HATCH EGGS:
You have about 7 days to hatch an egg  (you can see how long it has by going onto it's page under the Dragons tab) and they need views to survive. A "view" is everytime the image loads. You have to be really careful however, as too many views from too few people can make the egg sick (ill talk about this later). Clicks are counted from each unique IP adress when they click on your egg, and they help speed up the process of the egg hatching/give it a higher chance to survive. It takes about 3-4 days to hatch an egg, but this can be sped up with heaps of unique clicks.
In the forum days ppl would put their eggs in their signatures, but i put mine in my profile! (You can also see all my current dragons under my about me section).

ONCE A DRAGON HATCHES:
Once the egg hatches, its a hatchling. HATCHLINGS STILL NEED CLICKS AND VIEWS SO THEY DONT DIE! Eventually it'll grow into a full adult dragon. If you want to keep your dragon as a hatchling, you can freeze it and populate your page with baby dragons- but  I think the adult ones are cooler.

WHEN YOU HAVE AN ADULT DRAGON:
Adult dragons don't necessarily need more clicks/views, so you don't need to worry about them too much. You can name them, breed them for rarer dragons, or if ur super into rp u can give them fun lore and stuff. Some super rare breeds have special actions that are exclusive to them (for example Vampire dragons can bite others to turn them into vampires).

MY EGG ONLY HAS 4 DAYS LEFT!!
This might happen when you take an abandoned egg. If your nervous it's gonna die/doesn't seem to be hatching, here are some sites you can use to harvest clicks.

IF YOUR EGG GETS SICK!
An egg can get sick if it gets too many views in too little time. The view ratio is  pretty big though- you'd mostly have to be concerned if you posted eggs in A LOT of places. The site will tell you if your egg is sick under the "Dragons" tab. You can hide the egg (under actions) to stop it from getting views/clicks. Usually you have to hide it for a couple of hours (I usually just go to bed and unhide in the morning) for it to heal. The site's warning about it being sick will go away- that's how you know it's safe to unhide your egg. If an egg is sick for too long it might die! :(

I hope this all made sense ! if you have any questions let me know in the comments haha
