The first one hurt
The second it tore through me
I grit my teeth and (bear) the pain
Of what it (feels) to be
Clutched between the here
And then
The past, my present
Alive, then dead
As I drag the pain across my flesh.
It’s fresh
The blood, the tears, the empty stare
Relief, then shame,
My future, the fourth
The fifth
The tenth
The last
The furthest thing from time
I know
I know how to be, hear, the
Silent
Silence.
Is all I ever wanted
And with it ringing in my ears
The deafening wail of fears still
Stabbing away within me
I know I’ll never get there
Caught between the first and
Last
Try of hiding between time.
