Darkness swirls around you,  menacing and destructive.  

It threatens to pull you in.  Taunts you with vivid memories of times past. Of things that have hurt you and can still tear you open to this day.   

It pokes and prods at you,  and closes in on you,  until you feel suffocated.  

You can't breathe.   

You can't think.   

You feel all alone.   

And then,  as it is just about to swallow you whole,  a light emerges in the distance.  

What is it?  

You wonder as it gets closer,  not noticing that the darkness is evacuating as you are focused on the light.   

It slowly forms a shape.

A caring glow to pull you out of the darkest place.  

You look around.  

The darkness is gone.  

You are safe.
