the fox eye trend
i'm going to make a video about the foxeye trend. a lot of people seem to be misinformed and think that the problem is the makeup. its not. theres makeup looks to make your eyes look bigger. that isn't the problem. the problem is people pulling their eyes back for their social media photos. that was used as a way to mock asians for our eyes and to discriminate against us. but now theyre doing it as a trend for the internet? its not okay. its really damaging and it reminds a lot of asians about how they were bullied for their eyes. it reminded me for sure. i know people are going to say get over it or that its not a big deal but unless you're an asian it's not your place to speak or determine wether the gesture/trend is offensive or not. the gesture does not target you and your race. if other asians disagree id love to talk about it and see your pov but if you aren't asian stfu. im tired of being told to get over it when its not something that i should "get over". it's something that should be talked about but isn't and isn't taken seriously because it targets asians. the model minority myth to its finest. if you want to read about model minority myth (you should) then click the link what is the model minority myth?
