Losing A Loved One To Drug Addiction. R.I.P. Kim Forner
Current mood:  depressed

I recently lost my Aunt Kimberley to a heroin overdose.
She was only 31.
I always referred to her as my sister
Because I'm older by almost 3 years.
She wasn't just my family.
She was my best friend in every sense of the word.
We grew up as kids.
Always been close.
So when I found out that she died due to a heroin overdose,
I was shocked!
She kept it from everyone.
Hid it very well.
No one had any clue that she was using.
So needless to say i'm devastated.
Kim was the most important person in my life.
I'm having an extremely hard time dealing with this.
I was also given the task of making her Memory video.
As well as the Memorial service pamphlets.
That was extremely difficult to say the least.
Her parents (my grandparents)
Want to have the service on Kim's birthday.
On December 21st.
I never got to say goodbye to Kim.
She was just gone!
I will never be the same again.
With Kim gone,
My life will be very complicated.
Very difficult to manage without her.
I don't know how to do this with her gone!

A cover that Kim did to an
Eyes Set to Kill song called Ryan.
I did the backup Vocals.

Losing A Loved One To Schizophrenia...
Current mood:  sympathetic

My Cousin Michelle's used to be a normal girl.
She was my best friend.
And was very talented,
and creative.
But as she got older,
she begin to have these episodes.
We didn't know what was wrong with her.
As time went on,
her episodes got worse.
Eventually she became a girl we didn't know anymore.
We now know she has full blown Schizophrenia.
That the girl we knew and loved is no more.
She has lost all touch with reality,
and is lost in her own crazy since of it.
She refuses all help.
Believing that her reality is really real.
I'm afraid that what she does in her own world will eventually get her killed.
Her case of Schizophrenia is an extreme one.
Now I'm going to get into what Schizophrenia is.
And why she was fine until she was in her 20's...

_____________________________________

Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally. Schizophrenia may result in some combination of hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disordered thinking and behavior that impairs daily functioning, and can be disabling.

Symptoms

Schizophrenia involves a range of problems with thinking (cognition), behavior and emotions. Signs and symptoms may vary, but usually involve delusions, hallucinations or disorganized speech, and reflect an impaired ability to function. Symptoms may include:

  • Delusions.
These are false beliefs that are not based in reality. For example, you think that you're being harmed or harassed; certain gestures or comments are directed at you; you have exceptional ability or fame; another person is in love with you; or a major catastrophe is about to occur. Delusions occur in most people with schizophrenia.
  • Hallucinations.
These usually involve seeing or hearing things that don't exist. Yet for the person with schizophrenia, they have the full force and impact of a normal experience. Hallucinations can be in any of the senses, but hearing voices is the most common hallucination.
  • Disorganized thinking (speech).
Disorganized thinking is inferred from disorganized speech. Effective communication can be impaired, and answers to questions may be partially or completely unrelated. Rarely, speech may include putting together meaningless words that can't be understood, sometimes known as word salad.
  • Extremely disorganized or abnormal motor behavior.
This may show in a number of ways, from childlike silliness to unpredictable agitation. Behavior isn't focused on a goal, so it's hard to do tasks. Behavior can include resistance to instructions, inappropriate or bizarre posture, a complete lack of response, or useless and excessive movement.
  • Negative symptoms.
This refers to reduced or lack of ability to function normally. For example, the person may neglect personal hygiene or appear to lack emotion (doesn't make eye contact, doesn't change facial expressions or speaks in a monotone). Also, the person may lose interest in everyday activities, socially withdraw or lack the ability to experience pleasure.

Symptoms can vary in type and severity over time, with periods of worsening and remission of symptoms. Some symptoms may always be present.

In men,
schizophrenia symptoms typically start in the early to mid-20s.
In women,
symptoms typically begin in the late 20s.

_________________________________________

Now you know why she was fine until her 20's.
Schizophrenia is a very unique type of Mental illness.
Something gets triggered in the brain when the person becomes a young adult.
No one really knows why this happens.
That a perfectly healthy person can be fine,
Then all of a sudden not be.
There is no cure for Schizophrenia it can only be managed with medication.
Much still needs to be studied about this unique Mental illness.

Now,
I'm going to share some funny video projects we made together.
Long before the Schizophrenia took her over.
In these videos are the girl we all miss.
The girl that was taken from us
Because of the Schizophrenia...

A dream of war now decease
A dream of a world now together
A dream of everyone caring for one another

A dream of hope
A dream of love
A dream of it coming from up above
A dream of it flowing in every heart
A dream hate long depart

I'm dreaming a dream
A dream of laughter
A dream of celebration
A dream of determination
To never have another war
A dream to no longer settle the score

I dreamt a dream
Oh no,

My Guardian Angel
Current mood:  blessed

I saw an Angel soaring through the clouds & sky
Soaring threw the sky at an angle
Diving down
To the ground
And to my surprise
What did I see
Was that she was headed straight for me
She looked oddly familiar
Like I saw her somewhere once before
And it struck me to the core
Because I never saw an angel before
Then she spoke in such a loving & calming voice

She said...
"You have not been very good
You're not behaving like you should
I must tell you that you have a choice
Either turn your life around
Or face the Devil's sound
An eternity underground
God loves you
I wish I could make you see
That he has done a lot for you out of his love & glory"

Then she said...
"The great Lord sent me to tell you this
Because you're headed down the wrong path
Please turn your life around
So you don't face God's wrath
Before I leave
You get one wish
And God will grant it
With pure bliss"

So...
My wish was
For my Mom to turn her life around
And get off the drugs
To be the woman she once was
Then the angel flew off
But before she was too far away to hear

She said...
"Just remember.
God will show his love
Way up above"
"One last thing I will tell you is
Reach in your pocket
You'll find a locket
Then you will know who I am"

So with that she was gone
All that was left from up a far
Was a beautiful shining star
After I got home
Still in shock and dismay
That God had sent an angel my way
I reached in my pocket
And found the locket
I looked inside
And found a picture of my sister
I was shocked.
For I have really missed her
Now I know she is somewhere peaceful & safe
And that made me feel better
So better in fact
That I must go for now
Because I have a life to change
And that life is mine
and mine alone
I've got to command the demons out of my life
Because it's my own
Once I'm changed
It will be for the better
Instead of sitting in jail
Some time later
I will break the chain that has been handed down to the next generation
And bring some liberation
A liberation of peace and harmony
Because this life is a new life
And it's worth celebrating
