AQUABATS WEEKEND RECAP!

if you don’t want to read, here’s the video on the whole event i made! 

first off, mentioned in the last post, craig (CADET MCMAGNETIC) stayed over at my house two days before the summit! it was super fun to have him over, he’s a great friend of two years that i met only just now! it went smoothly and so did the roadtrip !!! 

NIGHT 1:
night one was the BEST! hanging out with cadets in line was fun! i was so excited to see jake (BONEHEAD!) and eryn, since i totally missed them since oc fair . cadet meulinex and sir scruff were also fun line buddies! THE GOODWIN CLUB WERE AMAZING OPENERS!!!!! seeing them play the song "everything" was definitely a highlight. i’ve been a big fan of the goodwin club for ages. gogo13 were also good openers, but onto the actual show. i personally think the aquabats are never beating how good this was. the CAPED! commander walked out on stage with a torch and it looked so badass. they were finally sporting the green return era rashguards and decided to change into fury era outfits halfway through the show. gumby, nacho, ben the brain, and rod the hammer also showed up! I WAS FREAKING OUT! SO MANY OLD AQUABATS! (that i would never even think would come back... wow) they ended up playing pinch and roll, and set the powdered milk man on fire, blasting us with fire extinguisher at the same time. LOL it was actually amazing. after night one we waited outside with jake and eryn to meet a lot of aquabats. that night we talked to quite a few, but not all. (i’m pretty sure it was nacho, rod, chainsaw, jaime, gorney, adam, AND CATBOY!!!!) i talked to tami from the goodwin club too and she is such a sweetheart! i love her! me and catboy (...though saying boyd is cuter and easier) talked for a while (or whatever felt like a while) about devo. it felt so nice talking to one of my favorite people ever about one of my favorite things . i asked him about his favorite devo songs and he said "gut feeling" and "that’s good". he has good taste! of course i talked about how good oh no it’s devo is, and then he told me a story about meeting mark, getting a tour of mutato musika, and getting on stage with them in 1988! cool stuff!  ( and of course i got a hug.) also, when i met jaime i made sure to get a cute greeting video for my best friend reuben, and a picture! when me and craig went back to the hotel, the first people we saw down there were the commander, ricky and chainsaw checking in, it was hilarious. and then we knocked out, cause WE NEEDED TO BE AT THE SUMMIT AT 10 AM TOMORROW. we didn’t eat a thing that night.

CADET SUMMIT!:
first off, before the summit, we saw chainsaw in the continental breakfast area. he approached us ominously, going "WELL WELL WELL." and asked us how we slept. it was funny as hell eating breakfast with chainsaw, especially cause he ate 2 plates in the span of around five minutes. we wouldn’t stop calling him the prince of continental breakfast that whole night. onto the summit itself, as we waited to get in, we saw all of the aquabats pull up in their cars. me and craig spent most of the waiting time judging the aquabats’ car choices, except me, since boyd looked quite dreamy in his shiny, big ass truck. crash had a big scratch on his, and eaglebones’ was a grandma gold color. the first thing i did when me and craig got into the summit area was talk to the professor!!! me and him talked about paul frank and THE MOSELEYS!!! for a little bit, which he suprisingly initiated by complimenting how old my paul frank shirt is.  i thought i would do him one better by pulling an ass old bunny moseley pin out of my bag, which prompted us to talk about how much we crave stupid men in wigs, and how good their music was. (a great band, not drag queens)! after that, me and craig immediately wanted to get into the skating rink. boyd was also thinking the same thing, so me and boyd skated alongside eachother like struggling idiots. maybe because i’ve never skated before and also the fact he later revealed to me that he hasn’t been rollerskating in TWENTY FIVE DAMN YEARS! we talked a while in that same conversation, just talking about how ice skating sucks way more than rollerskating, him making sure i got the hang of skating so i don’t crack my skull open, how he didn’t think the aquabats would get this far, other bands like the aquabats, him asking how i got into the aquabats, stuff i know for a fact i’m forgetting. he is SERIOUSLY the sweetest. after this, they did a funny powerpoint "business" presentation and gave out the awards to the biggest queequees they could find. CRAIG WON THE AWARD FOR SHINING SPIRIT CADET!!!!!!!!! i cheered and screamed so much for him i nearly teared up. i went and hugged him so hard and beat his back like a gorilla as if he just won the superbowl. that’s my best friend up there!! his favorite aquabat even gave it to him and praised him the whole time which was just really funny to watch. after that, we hung around jake and eryn again, and got all of the aquabats there to sign and draw on his big golden aquabat head trophy. NOW I TALKED TO AND MET ALL THE AQUABATS! (...except ben...) gumby shook my hand and told me "you’re lilly right?"  which scared me because i HAVE spoken to him before online, but i don’t know where he got the chance to put face-to-name. i’m glad he recognized me! after all that, we bumped into boyd again and had small talk i honestly forgot about. i know for a fact we talked about the fact we wouldn’t be able to be on his side of the stage later that night since craig wanted to be up close and personal with eaglebones.   boyd jokingly encouraged me to leave him in the dust and told me he "wouldnt be mad" if it was just me on his side, but i wanted to be friend of the year and not abandon him with the eaglebones loving hippies on his side of the stage LOL. after that, i bought a cadet summit patch and we rushed home to get ready for night two... aka 3-4 hours from then. 

NIGHT 2:
night two was great!!! yet definitely not as eventful as 1, it had a pretty fun waiting-in-line party. meulinex brought us coffees, except craig wanted a lemonade because he’s a little boy that loves to wear propeller hats and ride out into the sun on his trike! she also got me a cake pop cause she’s a sweetie.  the show was amazing! but not as good as night one, like i said. it was the first ever show of mine where i wasn’t right infront of boyd, and i like seeing him and hearing the loud horns! the funny part was when he walked by our side of the stage with his arms out like "WHY?!?" as if we betrayed him. sorry boyd. gogo13 was a great opener both times, but especially this time since they played "curly locks". they are MUCH better live in my opinion. sucks that it’s gonna apparently be their last live show ever! after the show, jake was showing me and craig annoying playground tricks like how to punch someone’s head all weird, and flipping his eyelids inside out. he’s a very funny man. after that, we met boyd again and talked to him about their next performances in the UK, small talk about how he’s "not shy, but usually had nothing to say" when craig mentioned he’s been chattering more recently, which i love. i did mention to him he’s really easy to talk to. this time, he was the one to initiate hugs with me and craig. which warms my heart . after that, jake gave me a gogo13 cd and we waited for craig to meet eaglebones again. after that, THE TRIP WAS OVER! except the road trip back... it was absolutely amazing and i hope to god there’s one next year.
