i thought i outgrew the end-of-summer boredom that seems to seep into every kid's bones once they get bored of running around and wasting hours of daylight. 19 feels so much older and younger than i thought it would be. im itching to crawl out of my skin and i just might if i didn't think i'd get so queasy with the carnage. it's my biggest fear to die in my hometown without the name or scars i've rightfully earned. and yet i want to go home. i want to go home. san francisco waits for me in a torrent of fog and golden daylight blanketing every nook and crevice of this flagship dystopia. (not home yet). and before i make my great escape, i'm trying to scrub the blood of the floors of this shack, but the shells littered in the sand are digging into my palms and knees, speckled red. (not home anymore). take a good look and breathe once, twice before it's all over
