everything is oversized on valentine's day 
like the third hobbit movie 
with similar results 

I remember I gave you an oversized card 
and drove you through the valley 
you asked if I was going to propose

I could've
I did, as a joke,
I would've 

It all could've been right there
oversized, cemented in scale
you kissed me anyways

you asked for a promise ring
you were 20
I was 17

all commitment
no promises
