Let's use a hypothetical, let's say someone goes off and kills a bunch of people in a school shooting style massacre, that has incredible consequences to the people who died, and then less to the people in the school, and then the town , the city, the state etc. And by the time it reaches you , provided you don't live even a state over, does it really even enter your mind? Do you wake up in a cold sweat thinking about those specific people ? No probably not, and now let's zoom out to the people on a planet 50 billion light years away. Does the butterfly effect even touch those people? The problem isn't nihilism, or even existentialism , the problem is people can't make accurate judgments balancing both in accordance with the relativity of consequence with in the chain. Moral relativity is a completely logical conclusion that a person can come to if it's applied consistently over the largest possible set of effects in the chain of causality.Moral relativism seems to me a perfectly pragmatic solution to an irreducible complexity like the nature of existence.Moral relativism has been hijacked then apparently. Pragmatic solutions are just the most convenient solutions to problems that humans have in the real world, moral relativism is like glasses pragmatism are the eyes. That's just my view though.value is assigned by those who define it. For example I take responsibility for my actions, that may be deemed noble by most people but if you put those values into practice you would get a wide variety of results. From concentration camps to gulags prisoners and guards alike those words mean very different things, context in this case is morally relativistic the pragmatic philosophy of " I take responsibility for my actions" doesn't mean anything without both context and the person and at least a subjective definition of the actions taken there after. I finally did it, I made it to where I wanted to be in life by this age, actually slightly ahead of schedule. I worked hard to get where I am , and I still don't have anything to show for it. In fact, now I have an a separate but equally depressing set of circumstance that surrounds me. It's all true, the more sh*t changes the more it stays the same. In six years the whole thing has just come right back around on itself, I used to enjoy structure and plans and dates, now all I want is the chaos. I am utterly exhausted and utterly bored, but I know I can't have it both ways. So now what? I thought responsibility would bring meaning through order, I thought righting all the injustices inflicted upon me and by me would somehow bring equilibrium to my life. That's the thing about being middle of the road isn't it? You're just as likely to get hit from both sides as you are either side. So this cycle of monotony and utter bedlam is just bound to repeat itself for the rest of my life? I need friends and a social life and relationships with people but I also need a job that pays well that challenges me but doesn't overburden, but I can't have that both ways either. Is this the world I just have to deal with living in? I want there to be more to this game we all play but there's just no time. It's just Pascal's wager forever , just constantly betting on an infinite number of horses and nobody wins. Why does everyone play a game where everything's made up and the points don't matter, or a game where there's only one way to win? What a pointless meaningless pit this is. You are always wrong no matter what your opinion on the matter is, so why not flip the table and just refuse to play? Probably because not playing the game is just as nihilistically dismal as the former. So then what's left. The way I see it you can either play alone or make up your own game . The problem with the first option is, that's not fun or fulfilling at all, that's just as utterly pointless and meaningless! You only have so much time here and the suggestion box is getting lighter and lighter as the options start disappearing and the twilight hours of life march steadily toward each and every one of us. So then that just leaves a single option, make your own game. How do you even do that. Let's just make a comparison here for the sake of argument. When the first tabletop RPG came out it was revolutionary, nobody had thought of it before, then copycats spread , there were bigger names like d&d that basically everyone who played the genre played and a million other copycats but it was basically the same game over the entire set of possible games. How do you keep the way you play life separate from how everyone else plays and still get others to play with you. I'm not sure you can, I'm not sure there's anyone out there with an idea radical enough to both shake the status quo and appeal to the masses. So now I'm about halfway through my time to play, compared to the length of time most men live in my family. And I have to do I all over again in reverse now . What can I possibly do to change this awful paradigm ? These are not rhetorical questions, I actually want answers. So I took the IPIP-300 with my girlfriend yesterday. The test is informally known as the big 5 personality trait test, an in my opinion, it is the test to end all tests, it's the most important test you will ever take. It's 300 questions long not including all the stat stuff. For legal and ethical reasons , you have to be 18, mostly due to the fact that school age teenagers are still developing most of the traits that are applicable here and cannot be accurately measured. Take the test , share your results, and do this with 3 people , yourself, a family member and a friend. The reason is because you can see in plain English and statistical numbers where you stand with yourself and you can compare yourself with other people in friendship, family relationships , and with you romantic interests, to see how you stack up so you can more easily and amicably interact with other people. This could even be something you could do as an experiment with your employees. Let's take me and Jess for example, she scored very high in agreeableness and I scored very low, so now knowing that I know that she is very likely to agree with whatever I suggest we do, and me wanting to treat her with respect, knows that if I make a suggestion I will push the issue until I get what I want and she wanting to make me happy will agree. That's not fair, so now what we do is, we both decide we want to do something on a given day, she makes 5 suggestions of things she'd really like to do, and I pick one of those things and we both get what we want. Here's something so problematic it's actually endemic.

Let's say for the sake of the point, that person A says something they heard about person B that belongs to group X that is absurd that comes from some external source 1, and this thing confirms group X's bias about person B. Then person C interjects with information that contradicts both person A and source 1 that doesn't confirm group C's bias and we'll call this source 2. And not only that it's both the truth and stranger than the lie. Despite all of that, because person A and Group X has not has their bias confirmed, they will either continue to filibuster or worse perpetuate the lie or, the conversation shuts down completely. Why do we let our biases run roughshod over our critical faculties? Are we even capable of having that conversation then?

Reflecting on my life I've been thinking, how about advice for middle schoolers and early high school students. Males in particular 

Rule 1) every kid hates their parents you aren't special

Rule 2) don't try to impress anyone, everyone your age is an idiot and you're liable to say something stupid or just plain autistic that will prevent you from ever getting paid.

Rule 3) smoke cigs, start stealing them and only smoke around people you wanna impress, practice at home first.

Rule 4) get laid, just do it , steal a rubber if you have to but don't trust a broad to deliver on this promise, she's liable to poke holes in it. Get it over with, bang a 4 , you'll need to do this to build confidence , rule 3 will facilitate rule 4

Rule 5) do not offer your opinion to anyone if it's not asked you, keep your responses short and stick to the point.

Follow these 5 rules, start early at 13 and by the time high school rolls around you'll be set.

Oh yah you're gonna get in trouble so I would suggest maybe learning how to lie.

Don't worry about grades, public school is a joke anyway, just record your classes and stick the audio into a terabyte hard drive and you'll be good to go. Everyone is sh*t shot a math it's not something you'll give a sh*t about until you don't need it anyway.
