Freed my music from Reverb nation, and plan a new video...
Current mood:  confident

It cost me a $30.00 "take down" fee- for music which they never "put up" ANYWHERE. Not even AMAZON, which will accept anything submitted, all they care about is getting their percentage of any sales. Not a damn place did it appear, most assuredly not on iTunes, which is what their promotion says "Pay us for registering your stuff, and we'll act as your publisher and get your stuff on ITUNES!!!". They didn't do shit.

To everybody who reads my shit who's in a band, don't get sucked into their bullshit. I would recommend Catapult Digital distribution, which put my first album EVERYWHERE within the first week of registering it with them. It took the 2 years to get it on iTunes, but they got it there (finally). It was the latency getting my work on iTunes which caused me to try ReverbNation in the first place.

Reverb Nation may have it's uses as a promotional tool, but it is absolutely SHIT as a digital distributor. Oh, except for thousands upon thousands of "ringtones" of my stuff you can find through google search, and which I've never seen a cent from. I'm going to have ASCAP look into that crap (I'm a member).

Plus, the fuckers at Reverb Nation now want $60.00 a year to distribute your stuff on the net. I mean, what the fuck? Catapult charges a one-time fee- then takes something like .5% of whatever profits you get from the sale (not a damn thing like the old "record labels" where the profits were divided in just about exactly the opposite manner- but let's not get into how much I hate record company weasels...).

I wanted to sue them so badly, but the cost to file suit against them was actually more than the cost of just paying the sorry thieving fucks off. So my music is mine again, and hopefully my second (and, frankly, what I consider a much better) album should be available in all the digital distribution sites in about a month.

Oh, and my video project is on hold for at least 2 more months. I found myself in the position of having to spend a great deal more money than I had planned for a dinner assignation, so I'm short of funds for paying an actress/model for the work

Yes, I'm planning an all-original shoot for one of my newest numbers "Que Palabras", and if it's not on this site already, it will be before I leave for dinner with my dad.
