Here is a list of the main forum titles that are no longer available on MySpace, as they have shut their forums down.
Arts & Literature Business & Entrepreneurs Campus Life Computers & Technology Fashion Food & Drinks Games General Discussion Health, & Fitness Love& Relationships News & Politics Religion, & Philosophy Sports Travel & Vacations
Also here is something you may want to give some consideration, with the forums. You have for the teens, but as they get older, and mature, they're going to not want to be trying to hold discussions with teens, or have them in the same area. A good set up for that would be by age groupings. From 13 to 20, then 21 to 35, 36 to 50, and 51 and older. I know that at this time the majority of users are in the say 13 to 25 years of age range. However over time, this is going to change, especially if the site continues to grow, and those who liked MySpace, start to gravitate here. Yet even now there are older users on here, with more in the future coming, if I'm right.
Finally the biggest advice I can give is don't try being everything to everyone, by adding more and more things to the site. Have clear point of at what point you want to be best known for. That was something MySpace, forgot and went away from. Which has been their downfall.

By having the forums, and groups out where people can see them, it can also help users if they know that they can when they have questions, say about the site, they can get help within the site. This I think is far better than users trying to rely on getting answers from people on Yahoo Answers. Some of the answers there, that I have seen ruin from being helpful, to trolling, or out right being rude to the person who is asking. I like to be polite when answering questions, and make it a practice to be polite. Yet not all of the respondents to questions asked, aren't. Which is why having the forums out where they can be seen, and users can come to them, for questions or discussions on the topics near, and dear to them would be both beneficial to them, and less likely to be fraught with rude, or incorrect answers, from others.
The forums, and groups are to me one of the key ways that people meet, and socialize with others. This is why I think by setting them by themselves in the navigation bar would give them more exposure, and get people to be active in them.

As I said Drude, I have a complete list of not just the main forum titles but all of the various sub forums, that if needed I can add top what I pulled, from the ones on MySpace, plus some sub forums, that were over looked, as well as some others I kept a list of, when I hung in the forums, and the Forums Feedback forum. I weighed others for consideration for suggesting, but held off on those when I posted the list. If the ownership is interested, I'll be happy to add those as well.
Drude I think you saw how I did things over there, and know my answers are weighed before giving them, so my suggestions are weighted in the same measure, with consideration. Since they seem to bent on not listening over there, I hope the ownership here does.

I have a couple more suggestions, to add to this topic. I don't know exactly what is entailed to do it, but a quote user function in the forums would be nice, along with seeing the post that maybe getting a reply to someone. While it doesn't bother me all that much, two other details that could make these forums a bit more friendly, as well as possibly the groups, if they function as the forums does, is to be either sent back to the topic, or to in the case of the forums, the forum a person is in rather than to where all of them are listed. This I think creates some extra steps for users in them. I know, and understand that the site is a work in progress, which is why I'm making the suggestions that I am. I hope that ones I make are helpful, and welcome here.
