Current mood:  blank

This site is really giving me MSN flashbacks, except more complicated. However, I am not here to critique. This is my first blog post after all and as a writer at heart, a good first impression is my top priority.

Blogs are usually meant to be about personal views on issues but as your popularity grows it can be about what you had for lunch and still crush the rating charts. Since this site isn't that popular, I'll settle with my first impression of this site.

The first problem with this site is how beyond complicated it is, it could be that I'm really bad at any types of technology including making a basic profile but we are going to ignore that part for now. I am kind of digging how the first people it decides to show me are forty year olds. Which brings me to my next question, why on earth are there so many forty year olds on this site? Is it the desire to re live the glory days of Myspace? Heaven knows.

I came here from spell of magic. Both sites similar in the fact so many foolish people are here. When I say foolish, I mean the people who fail to put in proper grammar and spelling in their bio. Nothing is more unappealing than a person's bio lacking in basic human decency.

Really I'm just nit-picking. For the first blog I decide to critique. Usually people would put their interest or what they hope to gain from this site but really, whats the fun in that? Count me as the normie who wants to stand out.

Yes thank you for the welcome, for the most part this site isn't to bad, once you warm up to it. Ah, but you see I myself am quite hopeless at basic coding but the little gig I've got going fits me just fine.

I don't deny people do. I can relate as I grew up with the Myspace era and the memories when signing up to this site were there.  I enjoy the writing part of this site, the blog and everything. Gives me a break from writing the stuff I usually do and focus on a little laid back writing.

I can't agree more. Socializing on here wasn't really my top priority really. It doubled when I first looked at someones profile.

I got a good chuckle in reading your comment, thank you.

Welcome to the site. I'll address some of your points: A) It's not too complicated to customize your profile. You can still find plenty of old MySpace 1.0 codes (and pre-made layouts, graphics, etc.) which still work on here. If you're the creative sort, you'll probably enjoy experimenting with different ideas. I create most of my own codes and graphics with very little effort. I'm sure you could do the same. =) B) You're right, there aren't too many users and most are LARPing normies. MySpace clone sites aren't too popular because that era is long dead and buried. Still, some of us enjoy the freedom of customization or a bit of MySpace "nostalgia" because we remember what the net was like before the normie flood poisoned nearly every corner of the internet. C) Don't think of this place as a "social networking" site. It's much too small for any substantive interaction and you won't find too many people on here who are capable of holding a conversation. It's usually mundane nonsense and typical virtue signaling which could put you in a coma. Other than that, the site is fine: unlike old MySpace, there are few glitches, hardly any spam and the ads are tolerable. Have fun and make it yours... Stay on top. -l- ~ Lex
